Common Questions
At minimum, you'll need a commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or airway bill, and a purchase order. Depending on the product, additional documents like a certificate of origin, test reports (BIS, FSSAI), or import licenses may be required. ACSPL will provide a complete checklist based on your specific cargo and HS code classification.
Standard import clearance takes 2-4 working days from vessel arrival, assuming documents are complete and no examination is ordered. Export clearance is usually faster at 1-2 days. Delays typically occur due to incomplete documentation, HS code disputes, or customs examination orders. We work to minimize these by validating everything before filing.
FCL (Full Container Load) means you book an entire container — 20ft or 40ft — exclusively for your cargo. LCL (Less than Container Load) means your cargo shares container space with other shippers. FCL is more cost-effective for large volumes and offers faster transit. LCL works well for smaller shipments but may take longer due to consolidation and de-consolidation at CFS facilities.
